Éric Fassin is a professeur agrégé in social sciences at the école normale supérieure, Paris. He works on the politics of gender, sexuality, and race, and their intersections, both in France and in the United States. His publications include L’inversion de la question homosexuelle (The Inversion of the Homosexual Question) (2005) and De la question sociale à la question raciale? (From the Social Question to the Racial Question?) (coedited with Didier Fassin, 2006). He is (still) preparing a comparative essay on gay marriage: “Same Sex, Different Politics.”
