Neni Panourgiá is associate professor in the Department of Anthropology, Columbia University. She is the author of Fragments of Death, Fables of Identity: An Athenian Anthropography (1995) and Dangerous Citizens (forthcoming), and coeditor with George Marcus of Ethnographica Moralia: Experiments in Interpretive Anthropology (2008).
